Part of Dying Matters Awareness Week 2025

Theme: "The culture of Dying Matters"

Apart of Me invites young people aged 16–25 who have experienced bereavement to two stand‑alone, moderated online sessions. Your insights will power a new Resources Hub for grieving youth and a concise “Do & Don’t” guide for adults.

Session 1 – Youth Voices: Designing Digital Grief Support (Sat 10 May)

🎯 Focus: What helps online?

Identify features, tone and content that young people need from a grief‑support website.

  1. Welcome & ice‑breaker (10 min)

  2. “What helps online?” live poll (5 min)

  3. Breakout conversations (40 min)

  4. Themes harvest & next steps (15 min)

  5. Wrap‑up & signposting (5 min)
     

Neither session depends on attending the other; each repeats key safety information.

Session 2 – Adults & Allies: Helping Without Hurting (Sun 11 May)

🎯 Focus: How adults can truly support?

Gather concrete advice for adults (parents, teachers, professionals) on helping without harming.

  1. Welcome & ice‑breaker (10 min)

  2. Prompt poll: “When it comes to cultural or family rituals around grief, adults help best when they ...” (5 min)

  3. Guided discussion (45 min)

  4. Co‑create a ‘Do & Don’t’ board, including cultural Dos and Don’ts (15 min)

  5. Wrap‑up & signposting (5 min)
