WHEN THERE ARE NO WORDS... BORROW OURS

Someone you know might be finding today hard.

They’ve lost someone they love.

On days filled with celebration, that loss can feel even heavier and often goes unseen.

These cards were created by young people who truly understand.
Send one. Let them know they’re not alone.

Your donation makes this work possible.
Your gift means more young people can access the guidance, community, and compassion they deserve, especially on days that hurt the most.

Cards designed by young people
who know how it feels

We asked young people who'd lost a loved one:
"What did you wish someone had said to you?"

Their answers became the cards. Their artwork became the backdrop. These are their words, and now you can send them.

Every card sold supports Apart of Me's work with grieving young people.

You can create a free digital grief card with your own words to let someone know you’re thinking of them.

Abigail — Age 11 when her mum died

“Mother’s Day without a mum can feel like being out in public and seeing mums with their children, it can make me feel sad, isolated, and a bit alienated, like I’m different from most people around me.”

“Mother’s Day can be another reminder that there is something different about you.”

“Watching everyone celebrate their mums can be difficult.”

“Hearing that people are thinking of you, that you’re not alone, and that they understand you might be having a rough time today is something I would really appreciate.”

Abigail’s story is not unusual. An estimated 46,300 young people under 18 lose a parent every year, 127 every day, meaning thousands across the UK are carrying a grief that can deeply affect their mental health, education, relationships, and future.

Your donation helps ensure they don’t face it alone.

A portable altar

In the week before Mother's Day, the campaign comes to life in London, a physical space where the cards, the artwork, and the young people's words can be seen and felt.
