Say It Sucks

Dear auntie,
when i’m grieving, i wish you knew you don’t have to fix it. you can’t. sometimes i just want someone to say what i’m feeling but can’t say like, “this sucks.”
cause it really does.
it sucks they’re not here. it sucks having to go to school like nothing’s wrong. it sucks my world’s changed and everyone else just keeps going.
i don’t need you to fix it. i just want you to not look away. to let it be what it is.
so if you don’t know what to say, just say that: “this sucks. and i’m here.”
that helps more than you know.
